Password resetting

Is it correct, that resetting the password (by the user) is currently being done using the email address of the user? If so, is it only via email or also via phone number?

At the moment, the password reset is only done via email. So if a user doesn’t supply an email address, there isn’t a way for them to reset their password.

If we’d like to also use the phone number for users to reset their passwords, then we’d need to set up (and configure) the Oppia server to connect to an SMS service so send the password reset info.

Of course it will all still depend on the user having entered a valid (and correct) email and phone no. And in most cases the email and phone no are optional registration fields.
